Recycling

Recycling Right in Lancaster County

LCSWMA does NOT provide curbside collection of trash or recycling. This service is provided by private haulers who bring the material to LCSWMA once it’s collected. Contact your local municipal office for more information on trash collection or recycling services at your home or business. For residents without curbside recycling service, LCSWMA offers free drop-off recycling at each of its facilities. Materials are limited to the Big 4 (see below). All other materials must be discarded in regular trash.

Anyone caught illegally dumping will be prosecuted.

What can be recycled?

Remember
The Big 4

These are boxes with fluting (wavy paper) on the inside

Plastic Bottles & Jugs with Necks

For example, a milk carton or water bottle

Metal Food & Beverage Cans

Think empty soup cans or soda cans

Glass Jars & Bottles

For example, a pasta jar or a soda bottle

Not sure if it’s recyclable?

Remember, it’s okay to throw it away. LCSWMA transforms waste into renewable energy.
